LAKBAY ARAL TO SRI FARMS IN ZARRAGA.
Introduction of a new farming technology that is climate resilient, not hazardous to health, and economically viable is no easy task especially to long-time farmers who are so used to the conventional way of planting rice. Allowing them to see first hand thriving farms, immersing them to some aspects of SRI (System for Rice Intensification), and meeting up close the farmers who have benefited and continue to benefit from the technology, gave them a much broader view of its possibilities and potential to address their main concerns - effect of climate on yield, rising prices of farm inputs, and low prices during harvest.
